The Soul Train Awards is meant to be a extension of the long running and legendary 70s series that brought soul, disco, r&b and rap stars into viewers living rooms. The awards show marked the 40th anniversary of the classic music showcase hosted by Don Cornelius. The show was hosted again by Terrance Howard and Taraji P. Henson. This was one of the best awards this year in my opinion bringing the king of r&b out R. Kelly and paying homage to producer and performer Ronald Isley and my favorite singer Anita Baker. The night was full of surprises El Debarge performed Faith Evans and even Kem. The most memerable part of the night was when Doug E. Fresh attempted to teach CNN news anchor Wolf Blitzer how to dougie lmao a dance created by Doug. Jasmine Sullivan also performed two of her songs and Eric Benet did his song Sometimes I Cry. I think it was one of my favorites because it was mostly soul music and i have a old soul at heart. I can't end this without Love, Peace and Soooul lol.
